Futaba blinked, brows furrowing at the name, though her attention was momentarily displaced by Yusuke's arrival. Okay, good, comforting. Familiar faces. But that did little to explain just what in the world was going on. But Akechi's words still rang in her mind. "I..don't know what you're talking about," she frowned, tugging on a strand of hair as she bit her lip, running over scenarios in her mind. "This place is so out of whack, I don't even know where to start."

But it seemed like he was talking about something that...hadn't happened yet? This was just getting weirder and weirder. She pinched the bridge of her nose. "Okay, right, gonna ignore that for now. You're right. Regrouping is most important, but I gotta ask, can either of you summon your persona?" This wasn't gonna be easy if none of them had any way of fighting. Especially since she was just good for analyzing the enemy. But that wouldn't let her defend herself if she was attacked. Regardless, sticking with them was her best option right now.

The use of codenames would be smart, just in case this did turn out to be some sort of Palace. Even if nothing was making sense right now, they should at least proceed as normal. But that didn't make the situation hurt her head any less. Was this some sort of strange Back to the Future scenario? If so, which one of them was supposed to be Marty McFly? Okay, focus, Futaba, she scolded herself, shoving those thoughts aside for the time being.

"When I got here, I was by myself. It was like I was just dumped out of my Persona and when I opened my eyes.." Disorientation was probably relatively common given the circumstances. But Akechi did raise a good question. Were the others the source of the fighting? "It couldn't hurt to find out," she agreed. "If we can all regroup we have a better chance of figuring out all this madness. Not only that, but there's safety in numbers as well. With all these shadows running around..."

It was strange enough to receive such an invitation out of the blue, but the contents simply could not be ignored. Of course, she would have loved to brush it off and return to her every day life, but the threat of that secret being leaked to the world... It was the last thing she wanted. So, while she didn't want to attend such a party, it seemed she didn't have any choice if she wanted to continue living her peaceful life. With gritted teeth, she would attend, but she wouldn't enjoy it. Not if she had any choice in the matter.

For the location, of course it set her on edge. She knew the stories. She was sure there wasn't a soul alive or dead who didn't. None returned alive...That was what made her the most cautious. She had always made a point to steer clear of it, but now she was going to be heading right into the belly of the beast, thanks to that ghastly invitation.

It was every bit like she had expected it to be, an old mansion rising out of the surrounding wood. There was something off about it, whispers that reached her, tapping into some primal fear. It looked out of place, and yet like it belonged there perfectly. A bizarre sort of contradiction that didn't lessen her misgivings about this party any less.

Beware, beware, the whispers repeated over and over the closer she grew to the mansion. Despite its age, it did seem remarkably well cared for, perhaps making the setting stranger still. But who was behind this..? Her eyes narrowed as she regarded the mansion. At the very least, she'd keep her wits about her. That was all she could do, really. Relying on her own instincts and the whispers of those beyond, she would make sure that no one let that secret slip.

Steeling herself, she stepped up to the door, fists balled at her sides. She wasn't sure what to expect, but the inside was well lit. But much like the outside, there was a pervading sense of off. As if just by stepping through the door, one had stepped into another world, or another time. The foyer was decently lit...but it didn't seem like anyone else had arrived yet. Surely she wouldn't be the only one called out in such a way? Really, this whole thing seemed like something right out of a horror movie. Well, she was already here. As long as she was smart, she'd be okay. But really, why was she the first one here?!

She immediately regretted speaking up, feeling that uncomfortable cold ball sinking further into the pit of her stomach. It made her skin crawl, but at the other girl's words, she paused. She knew how that felt. Wanting answers and chasing down even the slightest string of hope. Her chest tightened as she toyed with the spoon, absentmindedly poking at the little bits of food left as she tried to gather as much of her courage and composure as she could.

"It's been a while but...I think they talked about some things..like cognition and stuff. My mom was studying that sort of thing," she murmured, her voice wavering though she really did try to be loud enough. "They were both scientists so I think Mom valued his input whenever they spoke.." It wasn't anything concrete that she could give her. She knew that. But if she really was thinking the right person, then that was a similarity between them. A missing parent.

"Well, they were studying different things so maybe that's not much help but..." she grimaced a little, glancing off to the side. She could almost feel Sojiro watching from the corner of his eye, as if he was trying to encourage her little by little. Or maybe he was just proud she'd managed to speak up at all. Well, she was getting a little better! Maybe. She wanted to help though. She knew exactly what it was like to not have answers. Was there something she could do? Any sort of digging..? She was a pretty skilled hacker, after all. She was sure if there was information somewhere, she was fairly confident she could at least get a good nugget of information... She really couldn't believe she was about to offer to do that for a total stranger though.

It had been a bit surprising to find out that Ryuji liked the same anime, but she was happy to have someone to talk theories with each time a new episode aired. It had been exciting when the movie was announced, and before, she would have just waited to buy it on dvd, since going to the theater meant being surrounded by people she didn't know and all kinds of crowds. But now, she'd have a bodyguard! It was a lot easier to face a crowd of strangers, especially the kind of people these events usually dragged out, with a friend.

Even so, it was bound to be a madhouse. Not only was the local theater showing the movie, but they were really going all out. Each theater was putting out limited edition merchandise. Tote bags, figures, drama cds, special art booklets! Things that would cost an arm and a leg if you missed getting them at the event! There was absolutely no way she was gonna miss out on this opportunity, anxiety be damned. At least she was going to have someone to hide behind. And Ryuji stood a better chance at fighting for merch if it came down to it...which she was almost certain would happen.

Well, maybe she could have invited him differently--but she couldn't hold back her excitement as soon as she'd heard about the event the theater was putting on. Of course, she knew he'd probably be free, or already planning to go himself, so it was only natural that he'd have the time!

LeBlanc always had a peaceful atmosphere. But it was even better when there weren't any people there, and she could eat freely without dealing with people. Well, Sojiro was there, and he wouldn't let anyone bother her. She was confident in that. Still, his curry definitely couldn't be beat, especially when paired with the coffee he served. It was also one of the only places she could manage to venture without issue.

Even so, she still tensed a bit when the bell rang over head, signalling a customer had just entered. Futaba felt herself subconsciously attempt to shrink into the booth, soundlessly sipping her cup of coffee. The last thing she wanted was to draw attention to herself. She tried to zone out of the conversation, feeling it wasn't any of her business but her next words caught her interest. Eiichiro Takeba? Why did that name sound familiar?

She heard Sojiro's thoughtful rumble, and she didn't need to look over to know he was rubbing his chin as he mulled it over. "Eiichiro Takeba, huh...Can't say that I do, other than that incident on the news years ago. Tatsumi Port Island, or something, wasn't it?"

Oh, was that why it sounded familiar? Well, she was too young to remember when it happened but she briefly remembered coming across the story when she'd been browsing the internet once. But something told her that wasn't quite it. Had she heard the name before then? She furrowed her brows, tilting her head to the side. She dug through her memory as best as she could, and when she finally found the answer, she almost choked. Her knee banged into the table and she hunched over, narrowly avoiding a coughing fit but with the sacrifice of her poor knee. So much for not drawing attention to herself.

She scowled at the screens before her, tucked safely within the confines of Necronomicon.

She opened her mouth to shout another warning, but a wave of vertigo washed over her, feeling as if her Persona had just been sent flipping through the air. For a brief second, she wondered if she'd lost consciousness, the screens going completely dark after a blue flicker seemed to wash over her vision. It was momentarily blinding, but when her vision cleared, she found she'd been dumped rather unceremoniously onto the ground. She expected to see her friends before her, but the sight that greeted her was definitely not Mementos.

A chill rippled down her spine, eyes widening as she slowly drew into a crouch. The atmosphere was eerie. The whole place was bathed in an eerie green glow, a full moon looming over her head. She didn't need her Persona to know this place was bad news. But how had she ended up here?

What was she supposed to do if she ran into an enemy, huh? Analyze it to death? As if that would work! Ah, if only Necronomicon had battle capabilities...but she was more suited to playing support, dammit! Hurriedly shaking her head, she decided she just needed to stay calm. The first priority was finding a familiar face.

A low guttural noise drew her attention, and she turned to see some sort of blob-ish shape moving away from her. It hadn't noticed her yet, whatever it was. She had a feeling it was a shadow, but it looked so different compared to the ones that had been roaming around Mementos, the ones that reminded her of the angel from that one anime. What was it's name? Sachiel? Sariel? Either way, it was bad news if that thing noticed her. It was time to go stealth mode! Too bad there was no cardboard box nearby for her to sneak around in.

There was a distant noise that reminded her of gunfire, making her suck in a breath. That meant she wasn't alone here. That was a start! She crept onto a side street, taking care to move as quietly as she possibly could, trying to find someone who was able to fight. But, in doing so, she was completely blindsided by a voice suddenly speaking up, barely keeping herself from screeching in fright as she jumped almost a foot in the air. She spun around, blinking owlishly as she took in the figure. Wasn't that...Akechi?
